I just tried to export a subset of my master file and all scripts now want to export the entire file, and does not offer the option of choosing the subset from the album index.  I did this not too long ago but either my memory fails or the scripts have been changed or the procedure has changed without changing the Help file?

Which am I looking:

None of those scripts have changed, but not all make sense to work on a selection. Which script were you using?

I tried them all though the initial attempt was "Customizable GEDCOM" which I think is what I have used before.  Basically, I want to select one of my albums and export it to my desktop as a GEDCOM.

tks

It probably was not "Customizable GEDCOM" because that is only intended for use when you need some special export method not provided by other options - and then it is proceeded by editing the "Customizable GEDCOM" script to add your custom needs.

To export an album, it is better to use the built in export tool:

1. Choose menu command File->Export->GEDCOM Data"
2. Pick the album to export
3. Choose other options and export

The help window has more details at

1. Open GEDitCOM II Help
2. Expand "Genealogy Files" and click on "Saving Genealogy Files"
3. Click on "Exporting a subset GEDCOM File.

A slick way to export any subset files (at least I think it is slick) is to

1. Create a new file while main file is open
2. Drag any records you want to the new file (such as all in an album, tree, etc.)
3. When done dragging, export the entire new file

Thanks John.  I forgot about that export option totally and was trying to get the ones in Scripts > Export Data to work.
