I have taken a 9-year hiatus from genealogy research, just bought GeditComII, and am ready to start again. However, I don't seem to have any native GedCom files anymore. I have multiple versions of html files I exported from Geditcom.

Is there an easy way to convert back to Gedcom format from HTML? The thought of re-entering all that data is daunting.

Thanks.

I did a quick search for “convert html to gedcom” and found the following:
http://www.starkeffect.com/gedcomviewer/

It uses the add-on “HTML Import Add-on” to: Convert HTML back into GEDCOM. More specifically, import data from trees of HTML documents produced by various other systems, and save the results as GEDCOM. This can be done either from local files or over the Web. Currently handled are various versions of GED2HTML, individual data pages generated by the RootsWeb WorldConnect server, and data pages generated by GEDitCOM using the standard Web page style.
