Timelines

Hi

I've just been through all my 'Places' and this has thrown up numerous interesting lines of enquiry - thank you.

I wonder if it is possible to have a 'timeline' format? ie one that shows all the data (including BDM) on an individual or family as a list sorted by date? or is there some other way to do this?

If not is it possible to at least list the Events and residences in a single table in the default format?

This would really be helpful in determining 'windows' within which to look for particular events.

Yes, by writing a script, anything is possible (if not always easy). And one timeline report script has already been written.

A GEDitCOM II user sent me a script to do a timeline report. I revised it and reformatted the output and it is now included in GEDitCOM II. To get a timeline report choose "Timeline Report" from the "Reports" submenu in the scripts menu. You can get a report for "All" or "Selected" individuals and can focus the report to only events within an entered range of dates. The output is a table listing events by date and what events happened.
