Hi all,
Hope all are doing sound and well.
This mail is for asking your help for our super senior, Jithesh (2001-2005 ECE Batch) who is suffering from heart ailment.
The expense required for the same is as follows:
Expenses : 10 L for surgery. First 6 month medicines will cost 50 K/ month. Next 6 months it will be 30K / month. Next 6 months 20 K/ month. After that 10 K/ month lifelong.
He is currently admitted in Lissie hospital and the below are the updates provided by the hospital.
Ø Dr. Jose chacko periyapuram has given green signal for the transplant surgery and had a 30 minute talk with Jithesh, his father, mother and brother. He explained a-z things about the surgery and Jithesh's condition Now.
There are 2 type of patients waiting for heart. 1. Active. 2. Dormant. Active means they should be ready for surgery any time. Dormant means they can wait for some more time. Jithesh upon registration will be in Active list.
Jithesh should register for surgery and stay in a house near hospital during the waiting period. He should come to hospital for checkups once in 2 weeks.
Complete rest and taking medicines is all that he can do during this period.
Surgery is a complicated one and Jithesh will be in hospital for 3 months after surgery in a very hygienic environment.
Doctor said that after surgery Jithesh will be smarter as anyone else.
Registration process is done by hospital and formalities will take 2-3 days. At this point, we can say that medical tests are over and Jithesh is fit for surgery.
Ø Update :
o Jithesh is still suffering from infection. It's a fungal infection in lungs. Currently treatment being given for that.
o Bilirubin is still at 6. Doctor said that it won't go below that, since it's due to less blood flow only. This will be fixed upon getting a new heart only. Normal bilirubin level is below two.
o Jithesh will be discharged from hospital only when his infection is cured.
o Regarding registration, doctors are moving ahead with tests like x-rays, scans etc. This study is required before registration to determine a) heart size b) age of heart donor c) maximum time period he can survive in current condition etc.
Ø Update : Ananth is in hospital now. Jithesh is feeling better now. Ananth couldn't see Jithesh, as he is still in post-surgical Ward. Jithesh’s family is looking for a house near by Lissie hospital.
Update : Jithesh had a slight variation in heart pulse and he is again admitted in ICU. But, doctors said - "not to worry too much. We expect these kind of patients to show some variations". Bilirubin is still at 6. He may be moved back to room in 1-2 days.
Ø Latest update from hospital :- there is no waiting list for Jithesh. It's in very urgent list now. Upon getting first matching heart for him with B+ve blood group, surgery will start.
