Simply define saveBookmarksInProject as true on your User Settings or in the Workspace Settings, and when you run the Bookmarks: List from All Files command, you will be able to select from which folder the bookmarks will be shown.
Better yet, if you use bookmarks.saveBookmarksInProject setting defined as true, the bookmarks saved locally will be available remotely, and you will be able to navigate and update the bookmarks. Just like it was a resource from folder you opened remotely.
Thanks so much! I was able to test it out last night in the Classic Map Viewer and noticed that if I saved my map in Classic, the bookmarks worked. It's good to know the workaround, though, so I can save in the new Map Viewer.
Honestly this business of having to go back and forth from new viewer to old viewer back to new viewer whether its for bookmarks or to copy layers or whatever. It seems to be the common required workflow to get many things done between maps and apps and other functionality. I for for one find this tiresome. Changing back and forth does have additional impacts on the map which usually need addressing each time. I realize some of these issues may arise from the different versions of JavaScript but......
The feature request Bookmark Bar shortcut I think was written before or shortly after the addition of the sidebar to Brave; The bookmarks folder is actually included in the sidebar, it is the second folder from top. One can also add individual links to it. But it would have been nice if the sidebar is on the right side!
For me the ultimate browser is the one that gives us the possibilty to toggle on/off the bookmarks and URL bars -when hovering the mouse at the top of the screen- all this while working fullscreen! A dream request for Brave!
Edit: I guess I get it now (hopefully). Adding new bookmarks on the mobile device would clutter the bookmarks bar of the desktop browser. I never really thought about it, since the desktop browser asks where to store a new bookmark instead of just throwing into the root folder.
Guys, seriously, separate bookmarks folders for desktop and mobile is just plain odd.
Can we have one Bookmarks folder across both desktop and mobile please?
Or at least an option to select this?
This issue is the only one keeping me from ditching Safari. But it is a biggie.
Thanks.
Inspired by your question, I tried opening a new private window, and sure enough, the bookmarks are visible when I am visiting that. Maybe there is something wrong with one of the TamperMonkey scripts after all.
The bookmarks menu sometimes shows only the first 3 items (same as on @tripleee -s screenshot), and some time later the menu also shows actual bookmarks.
This seems to be completely random; a browser restart might or might not make the bookmarks reappear.
I do want pretty badly to go to brave from ffox, but this sorry to say is a deal breaker for now. I want to be able to just click one of my bookmarks and it opens in a new tab like it does in ffox using an addon. Do I have to come down there and figure out how to do it and do it myself for you?
I have a document that has many sections. I don't want section numbers to show up in the document, but I do want the sections to show up automagically as bookmarks in the PDF using the hyperref package.
This means that one can have numbered and unnumbered sections in the same document, and all will appear in the table of contents and bookmarks as usual (the latter if hyperref is loaded, optional), with hyperlinks pointing to the right places, without any effort except loading the package! See the comments in the code below for more details. Note that this doesn't really need to be in a package, I just thought it might be more convenient.
I have a very long document that i have gone through and bookmarked several pages. I would now like to reorganize the bookmarks in the bookmark pane, however when I move a book mark, or add a bookmark hierarchy, it moves the pages within the document. The pages need to remain where they are.
Somewhat irritating since the Adobe Bookmark "help" specifically says, when you nest a bookmark the pages will remain unchanged (see quote below). Am I misunderstanding this? or is there a way to lock the PDF pages so i can literally just move the bookmarks without moving where the pages are in the document.
"Drag the icon or icons directly underneath the parent bookmark icon. The Line icon shows the position of the icon or icons. The bookmark is nested; however, the actual page remains in its original location in the document." - Source Page thumbnails and bookmarks in PDFs, Adobe Acrobat
In PDFlyer, there is an option to relocate pages when you relocate bookmarks. I am a CPA and this function can be helpful when preparing tax returns as we try to organize similar documents within a single pdf.
If you go to PDFlyer settings, the first section in the left-hand area is "Bookmarks". Make sure this section is selected (should be by default). On the right-hand side, the option is "Activate bookmark move function". If you have this checked, when you move bookmarks, your pages will
I will note, previously when I was reordering the bookmarks it would take a while to load the changes (i'm assuming from reordering the pages). When made the bookmark changes on the second go around, the changes were instant. So I assume the repair is what fixed it. But i'm not sure.

Indicates the heading level to use for the message "No bookmarks" when no bookmarksare available in this widget. By default, this message is renderedas a level 2 heading (e.g. No bookmarks). Depending on the widget's placementin your app, you may need to adjust this heading for proper semantics. This isimportant for meeting accessibility standards.
Bookmarks are somewhat like registers in that they recordpositions you can jump to. Unlike registers, they have long names, andthey persist automatically from one Emacs session to the next. Theprototypical use of bookmarks is to record where you were reading invarious files.
To display a list of all your bookmarks in a separate buffer, typeC-x r l (list-bookmarks). If you switch to that buffer, you can use it to edit your bookmark definitions or annotate thebookmarks. Type C-h m in the bookmark buffer for moreinformation about its special editing commands.
When you kill Emacs, Emacs saves your bookmarks, ifyou have changed any bookmark values. You can also save the bookmarksat any time with the M-x bookmark-save command. Bookmarks aresaved to the file /.emacs.d/bookmarks (for compatibility witholder versions of Emacs, if you have a file named /.emacs.bmk,that is used instead). The bookmark commands load your defaultbookmark file automatically. This saving and loading is how bookmarkspersist from one Emacs session to the next.
I sell magnetic bookmarks in my shop. Each one weighs roughly .4 ounces, and when I calculated the price to ship 3 bookmarks (1.5 ounces) international, I was shocked that it came up at $17! I know shipping is expensive, but wow! That's insane.
They actually can, at least my post office lets me. I have shipped paper bookmarks, art prints, and stickers in a regular envelope. At about 2 ounces, it cost me $5 to ship. I have looked into Pirateship, and it gave me the same price as Etsy (about $16) to ship a 1.5 ounce poly mailer.
However, since I can't print out those labels online, I'd have to go to the post office every time and I'm not confident I'll get the same results. The magnetic bookmarks (if they aren't bent and I remove any packaging) I think are flexible enough to go through a machine as a letter but the post office seems to always want to make me send it as a package.
Just a suggestion but perhaps offer bundles or sets internationally to help offset the cost of shipping. I'm thinking a bookbag and bookmark giftpack or a set of bookmarks. Still have the individual items but keep them domestic only.
I have a bunch of PDF files that I've added bookmarks to in Preview, and was hoping I would be able to see them in Adobe Reader (to insure other people reading the documents would be able to use them) but when I load Adobe Reader there is no Bookmark option at all. I don't know if this is because Reader doesn't recognize the bookmarks, or some other problem. Has anyone gotten bookmarks to work across different PDF readers? Thanks.
I just downloaded Foxit Reader, created a bookmark, and it showed up in Adobe Reader, but not in Preview. Are Preview's bookmarked non-standard? I just added hundreds of bookmarks in Preview to dozens of documents so this is really frustrating.
