Minecraft PS3 Edition 1.82 was released on December 18, 2018 and is the final update for the Minecraft PS3 Edition. It was designed to improve performance and fix bugs. After this version, there will be no more future updates to the game.
Klemen said that they won't update to 1.7.10 because 1.7.10 is really Bad and outdated so Forge recommend to stop using this for Modding, MCreator might make it possible in MCreator 2.x.x but you might wait for 1 or 2 years
Minecraft 1.7.10 is SERIOUSLY outdated and Minecraft Forge developers discourage users from using it and so do we. We plan to make support for custom generator plugins in the near future and if the community is interested enough, they (or we) can develop a plugin for 1.7.10 code generator.
Yeah, for modders it's better to use the newest version but for modpackers 1.7.10 it's still one of the best MC version. Mainly because of mods like AOA or Divine RPG or less known hogan's craft and many other amazing mods that are no longer developed. It's outdated, but all issues can be repaired with thousands of mods. Klemen answered(BTW really fast so props to him) me about that they're planning to implement custom code generator plugins so if the community is interested enough, they (or we) can develop a plugin for 1.7.10 code generator.
I think modders are the last "legion" of mc community 'cause rest is really cancerous(not all). Just watch some new videos on YT and compare them to old ones. Here in Poland some years ago we've got really fun, normal and good vids. Now? BULLSHIT for kids. I don't offend anyone esspecially kids because I prefer when children growing up with minecraft than cs go or fortnite where cancer strikes off the scale. "Cancer" in mc is only bad orthography(esspecially when you have as hard language as Polish)and penisses on build wars.
BladeRiver18: I understand this, but the fact that Minecraft Forge developers dropped support means that many important features (JSON and OBJ models, many procedure blocks, ...) from 1.8.2 MCreator can't even be ported to 1.7.10. We will stick to the plan I wrote above regarding 1.7.10.
So.... why do you want to mod a very old version that is not supported anymore?? It's like 4/5 years old now, the Dorge Dev team is not gonna help you if you have problems with it, because they are working on new versions.
To clarify - I'm concerned more about the differences exclusive to each platform, not just differences of features that will probably be added in future updates (for example, crafting). Otherwise, I feel this question could be compared to "What is the difference between Minecraft version x and version y", which isn't what I'm asking.
Main thing is the screen split. You can play with 4 players in local mode. For now it's the only main difference that I know, you can't play on the xbox live network for now, though Notch said that it will be possible in the future. Except that, there is no major differences "for now". It has just been released so we can wait for upgrades.
The main difference I've found, other than the controls, is the food system. Xbox uses an older version of Minecraft and does not have hunger at all. Xbox also doesn't support the wide array of mods that can be found on the PC version.
Ok, since the update in October of 2012 Minecraft is now a 1.7.2 I believe. This update put in hunger, creative, strongholds, abandon mineshafts, host privileges, endermen (ender pearls), silverfish, stonebricks, stained glass, iron bars, and patched a few things. Now what everyone is waiting is blaze so they can beat the game. Another big thing they are waiting on is texture packs and lots of others.
On the other hand pc might have all that but what they don't have would be split screen. Lots of pc players want to have this but they might have to wait because the 360 edition is about 2 years behind in updates. However, Mojang and notch were already behind when it came so the must help the promises they made first to the 360 edition.
It does have the 2 by 2 crafting option you press X to open it. But the rest sounded about right and there's much much more that isn't there or doesn't work. One in particular was the ender pearl. I was rather suprized to find that it was available but didn't do anything.
I've read the answers but i have found significant differences. Someone mentioned the "minecraft wiki" which was completely unhelpful to me, given that i can only find a reference page to the 360 version... all other links on it just revert back to PC version. There are loads of differences. Here are some that i've experienced (someone please correct me if i'm wrong on any of these):
Please make sure that you are in the correct server mode (online mode/offline mode) when you start the 1.8.2 server for the first time, because profiles are not compatible between these two server modes.
