Crash on launch in windows 10

Just tried to fire up geco on a windows 10 computer, which had everything working at least as recent as last October. It shows the icon in the notification icons area, but never shows the window. I have dump files for it - about 4mb each. I tried reinstalling the leap motion 2.3.1 software, and the patch -https://forums.leapmotion.com/t/resolved-windows-10-fall-creators-update-bugfix/6585.

I can play leap motion games. The leap motion shows as tracking when I put my hand over it.

I can see success on the diagnostics for the leap motion.

I can't see the visualizer from the leap motion control panel.
