Hi,

I am asking the owner of OSDisc.com to provide USB flash drives for the static releases (if possible to do that) and I would like to know the status of the Static Budgie version.  Should I wait until it becomes available again, or is it ok to use the last version from 2017 (170302, based on 42.2)?

Do you know if I can perform a release upgrade from 170302 to 42.3 without causing problems - or will that only become possible when the latest version is tested and ready?

-Thanks

Hi there, I wouldn't recommend using or promoting anything based on 42.2, because it's not support by openSUSE anymore. Hopefully the GeckoLinux *STATIC* Budgie edition will be available again once it is updated to openSUSE Leap 15.0. You might want to wait to ask OSDisc until after all of the GeckoLinux editions are updated.

Alright, that sounds like it should work out well.  I'll change my request to ask for version 15.0 and that way Budgie won't be an old version.  I am still waiting for a reply about the availability of USB media, as current versions of GeckoLinux are only available on DVD.

I have forwarded your suggestion to a sales rep at OSDisc.com.  I originally asked for the older version of Budgie but now I agree that it is better to get the latest and greatest.  I look forward to new STATIC versions based on 15.0 and I am excited to see GeckoLinux get more exposure by requesting USB flash drives be made available if possible.

Hi there, I'm currently working on updating the STATIC (Leap based) ISOs first, and then ROLLING (Tumbleweed based) will hopefully follow soon after. There are currently some bugs in both Leap and Tumbleweed that are holding up the process. Sorry for the delay.
