Hi everyone,
I'm new to GeckoLinux and having some issues with it.
Firstly, it hangs upon every boot for 1.5min with the text "A start job is running for dev-disk/... " and then something about "Dependency failed for resume from hibernation... ". I've followed the instructions on the internet on updating the swap partition which is supposed to fix this issue, but it hasn't. I have another Linux and Windows 10 on the same hard drive, but fastboot is disabled for Windows and each Linux has its own swap space.
Then, once it finally gets past that stage, quite often it fails to start, instead it goes straight into showing a white screen, then switching every second or so to a screen of another colour. Nothing else, just pure colours on the whole screen.
Also, when I hibernate or suspend it, it does not restore the session, it always starts a new one. That makes it kind of awkward to work with.
I'm mentioning all the issues at once in case they are related somehow, but help with any of them would be appreciated.
Anna

Hi there, which version of GeckoLinux are you testing?

Ah yes, that's important I guess... I'm afraid I don't remember though. I installed it back in February, it's based on openSuse Leap 42.2 and uname -or gives 4.4.36-8-default GNU/Linux. If that's not enough and there's an easy way to check or you need to know anything else, let me know.

Hi again. We could try to troubleshoot a bit, but it would be easiest to wait until the next update of GeckoLinux, which I hope will significantly improve hardware support.

Hi there, thank you for that information. Just to say that the newer version of GeckoLinux (based on openSuse 42.3) indeed does not have the issue with failing to boot any more. And I managed to fix the issue with the 1.5min countdown by updating the initramfs (after finding out that the command is dracut -f on this distro) and also found some solution to keep my sessions.
