would it be possible to make gecko-mediaplayer work on mplayer
instead of gnome-mplayer so it will be more generic and do not require
Gnome dependencies? if not, would you please post the dependencies
required so I can install them on my Debian machine.

the add-on is great and works on a lot of Israeli sites which have a
lot of problems with other plug-ins. thank you for that.

What is the problem with mozilla-mplayer? Its still being maintained by Kevin
and you can find it in main.

I don't know how pressed you are, but if you could wait until 0.6.3 is
released we should have gnome-mplayer/gecko-mediaplayer in main very soon:

http://bugs.debian.org/415381
http://bugs.debian.org/483551

Anyhow, this is a list of the current dependencies in sid:

gnome-mplayer

libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.20.0)
libc6 (>= 2.7-1)
libcairo2 (>= 1.2.4)
libdbus-1-3 (>= 1.0.2)
libdbus-glib-1-2 (>= 0.71)
libfontconfig1 (>= 2.4.0)
libfreetype6 (>= 2.3.5)
libgconf2-4 (>= 2.13.5)
libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.14.0)
libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.12.0)
libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.20.3)
libpixman-1-0
libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.13-4)
libx11-6
libxcb-render-util0,
libxcb-render0
libxcb1
libxrender1
zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4)
gconf2 (>= 2.10.1-2)
mplayer (>= 1.0)
dbus (>= 0.95)

gecko-mediaplayer

libc6 (>= 2.7-1)
libdbus-1-3 (>= 1.0.2)
libdbus-glib-1-2 (>= 0.71)
libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1)
libgconf2-4 (>= 2.13.5)
libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.14)
libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1)
gconf2 (>= 2.10.1-2)
and of course gnome-mplayer and a gecko based browser.

Obviously, versions may differ if you compile in a different environment from
up-to-date sid.

No I cannot make gecko-mediaplayer work only with mplayer. I it is
missing some of the technologies I require.

However, most of the gnome-ish things have been removed from
gnome-mplayer over time and so it does not really depends much on gnome.
It is more dependent on gtk than anything.

Kevin

Cesare, thank you for your answer, mozilla-mplayer has some issues
with many of the Israeli sites (they don't like standards and love
micro$oft...). I'll wait for the next version to go in to sid.
thanks,
amir
