Hi Kevin,

just updated to 1.0.6 (and MPlayer 1.1)

My test site is this one:
http://fredrik.hubbe.net/plugger/test.html

The "AVI (divx)" video on this page do not work when playing it the
first time after a firefox start (The video area is black, but sound
seems to be OK). I see this console output, when firefox is started from
console:

When I click the "play" button once again after the video has finished,
it seems to be fine,

The output is now:
in media state change with state = 1
in media state change with state = 0

The "Quicktime (old codec)" sample works fine.

I know that 1.0.6 is quite old, maybe the issue is no longer valid.

Best regards

Wolfgang

Wolfgang,

Can you enable verbose debug information in gnome-mplayer?
(Edit->Preferences->Interface (last item)) and try it again.

I have a feeling that you are using the vdpau vo with hardware
acceleration enabled? If so try disabling hardware acceleration and
see if that solves it (also in gnome-mplayer). Could you also mention
what video card and driver you are using?

Also 1.0.6 is the current released version, so this report is valid.

Below is the debug output.
Strange enough, it seemed to have worked once for me at first run today,
but the other attempts after a firefox restart failed.
My internet connection is quite slow (less than 1MB), so maybe this is
related.

Checkbox "hardware acceleration" is disabled. The combobox "video
output" (where I see e.g. gl, gl2, ..., vdpau) has nothing selected
(default settings I assume).
My video hardware: NVidia Geforce GTX 460 with nvidia driver version 295.49.

Best regards

Wolfgang

Please set the video output to something, preferably not vdpau as that
is the default vo chosen. Try x11 to start with, that one should
always work.

Something else is odd here.. not the -wid 0x0 option, that is wrong.
It should be the window id that is printed at the top of the log.

Wolfgang,

Actually I was incorrect on the message that -win 0x0 should be the
same as the id in the log, that is incorrect. However, it should not
be 0x0. gmtk 1.0.7 may have fixed this, but you will need
gnome-mplayer 1.0.7 as well (which are still in development)

Hi Kevin,

thanks for the efforts. I will try to pull 1.0.7 from SVN the next days
and post feedback.
