Hi,

I have never been able to play videos on this site.

An example is: http://www.tv2.no/sport/fotball/tippeligaen/her-forlater-irritert-solskjaer-tvintervju-der-ser-vi-hvor-mye-du-vet-om-fotball-4105071.html

Upon clicking on the "Play" button I see a very brief "loading" message in the gecko-mediplayer status area, followed immediately by "stopped".

Are any of you able to play this video and maybe advice on some settings to try?

I use:

- gecko-mediaplayer  1.0.8-4

- gnome-mplayer: 1.0.8-2

- mplayer: 2:1.0~rc4.dfsg1+svn34540-1+b2

all from Debian "Jessie"

Morten,

I tried to play the file and mplayer would not play it as part of the
plugin so I tried just the raw file. You can see this file in the logs
if you launch firefox from a terminal with gnome-mplayer verbose
debugging enabled.

mplayer

And that did not work, so I downloaded the file with wget

And all I got back was

Which basically means the site didn't like me and would not give me
the files.

So perhaps we have a codec or locale issue with this site. If you are
in Norway you may get different results and if you do please let me
know and give me the output and perhaps we can make this work.

Thanks.

 I am not in Norway but in Denmark. Danish and Norwegian locales are nominally different but in terms of content they are identical.

The beginning of error message says:

   "There are no distributed video files that match the given band width".

So the site is testing for my band width (which btw. is more than enough for playing this video).

Does that get us any further?

I tried to find a free proxy that would let me simulate coming from Norway, but I did not find any.
