Anystaff member who is unable to access MyView for a reason connected to a disability can contact pay...@nottingham.ac.uk or H...@nottingham.ac.uk to discuss suitable alternative options as a reasonable adjustment.

Will historical payslips be viewable and, if so, for how long? Some people might not wish to print a payslip out every month (and this will also reduce the printing cost which is being passed onto Schools) but may need to access it at some point.

Good morning Shelly. Thank you for your feedback here. All of the queries on this article have been collated and passed to HR. More detailed information about MyView will be published soon. Best wishes, Becky

Are you able to print off your payslip? Will this be something that can be done at the University on the printers here and not charged to the department or is the presumption that all staff who wish to print off their payslip will have access to a personal printer?

Hi. I have seen your advice for those requiring payslips for visas, but I recently remortgaged (to get a better deal) and they required printed copies of payslips. The lending bank was different to my current account bank, which is paperless. The lenders would not accept self printed account statements. I had to request & pay for original copies from my bank. I suspect most mortgage lenders will not accept self printed payslips either. On the whole, I dont mind this change, but there should be some mechanism for staff to request paper copies for visas or mortgages. You could limit it to 6 within a 2 year period.

I receive a UoN pension and up until September received a payslip each month. I was told that when I ceased to receive a payslip I would receive a letter detailing changes that would affect me. To date I have not received any letter and would be grateful if you would look into this for me. I have no way of accessing my P.40

This simple and easy online system is not just for employers; PAs can also have access to an account where they can view, print and download their payslips and pay documents. This means employers will no longer have to send these to their PAs.

This new system brings many benefits to you as a payroll customer including a simpler, quicker and more responsive payroll service. If issues arise, our payroll team will still be available to support you and, as the online system reduces staff workload, our response times will greatly improve.

A. If you are unable to login with reset account details, please clear your saved passwords. Your phone could be automatically overriding the new password with an old out-of-date one.

Q: What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

A: We have introduced an extra layer of security to My View as recommended by finance and IT experts. Whilst the system is very safe, all companies and websites are open to threat from clever criminals. Multi Factor Authentication (MFA for short) provides another layer of protection against an attack. The MFA feature of My View does require you to download an authenticator app. The instructions to do this and how to use MFA are in the factsheet which you can view and download from the bottom of this page.

A. New employees will be automatically signed up to My View once they are fully set up in payroll. If a new starter form, including an email address, has been sent in for the employee, they will appear on your account with their employee number listed the day after they are setup. They will then be able to login with that employee number and set their password using the instructions in our guide.

If your payslip is not showing, please contact us on myv...@penderelstrust.org.uk so we can look into it. Please note, if you were paid via a fast payment then your payslip may not be available on My View straight away.

A. The summary sheet that used to be provided detailing everything paid to your employees is not currently available on My View. We are looking into ways of making this accessible to you on My View in the future but at present, you can maintain your records by saving and printing payslips from the online system. We have been advised it is acceptable to provide copies of the payslips to local authority for audit purposes.

A. If your employee has not been set a leaver on our system, they will still show up on your My View account. Please contact us on myv...@penderelstrust.org.uk and ask for them to be removed. If you have not already submitted a leavers form, please provide the date that they stopped working for you so we can set them as a leaver.

A. If you are using an iPhone, you will get logged out after downloading a payslip and clicking back to return to the previous page. To continue saving payslips on your iPhone, you will need to download Google Chrome from the App Store and open My View on this browser and not the default Safari browser. Alternatively, you can view the payslips on your phone and download/save them on a computer.

I went for an interview and the employer asked for my current salary to which I replied X amount. However, I included in the amount the yearly bonus that we receive which essentially bumps up my monthly salary by a little bit (whether this is ethical or not is another discussion).

However, to continue with the process of hiring, they asked for my payslip which doesn't reflect the bonus that I've received. This is also the first time I've been asked of my payslip during the hiring process.

The whole thing of asking your previous salary as part of the negotiation is pretty rubbish and I know that one US state (Massachusetts) has actually brought in a law to ban employers from asking for it.

There are some tactics for declining to provide the information but they aren't going to help you here as you've already disclosed the figure and refusing to provide the payslip will probably just make them assume the worst. There's nothing wrong with accounting for the bonus when asked for your pay - after all it formed part of your overall compensation package.

As for how to handle the discrepancy in amounts - if you have any documentation to substantiate the bonus amount, or even just the existence of the bonus itself then I would supply it along with the payslip. If you don't then when you hand over the payslip (or email it in or whatever) just provide a matter of fact explanation like:

My total compensation was Z which was made up of my base salary X plus my bonus Y, this payslip will show my base salary of X and this e-mail shows my but doesn't include my bonus which was paid separately.

EDIT: I have to specify here: I am talking about salary in the context of a job interview situation as a number to represent your value. This is not meant as a word definition in the literal sense as salary vs. bonus vs. benefits etc.

for me. bonus is part of the salary so you where honest, in my view. Not only this, but everything else like free lunch, extra holidays etc. has to be considered. It is a money-equivalent compensation for the services delivered e.g. salary. (if not specifically asked about monthly wage without bonus)

Normally it is advisable to not disclose your salary at all. Your current salary has nothing to do with your future job. This is just giving away information to give them leverage in salary-negotiation. Asking for a payslip is highly unprofessional in any employment-situation I know of, only ever encountered it when applying for a bank loan.

Next time try to remember to answer the questions as asked. If they ask your salary, just indicate the salary. Then if they ask your bonus, you can talk about that and under what conditions you'll get a bonus.

A more important bug, in my view, is where you enter future-dated payslips and then try to pay one of them. The amount defaults to the total of all of the entered payslips instead of just the one payslip that you are attempting to pay.

Future-dated transactions are entirely different from recurring transactions. The first already exists within the system. The second only creates a template for a transaction, and still needs to be created.

@Tut I disagree - the act of paying an employee is either paying one payslip or paying the amount due TO DATE in the employee clearing account. And there lies the problem - because if you enter 5 payslips of $100 each - one for each week in advance - and then try to pay the one payslip that is now due, Manager defaults the amount to the total of all entered payslips i.e. $500 - even those due in the future.

This is a bug - particularly when Manager never used to behave in this way.

I agree, that payslip payments once worked perfectly but for some illogical reason this was changed and now users have to put up with the inconvenience of a flawed process rather than the previous efficiency.

For the same reason that you enter anything future dated.

You could add the next years rent payments as an example - the landlords payslip.

Cloning them in a batch is more efficient then remembering to do individual entries

I suppose if the employer was multiple pay periods behind in their payments it would make sense but that would not be tolerated by any employees I know. For a fixed term contract it could be used however a until date on the recurring payslip is a better solution. No Until date on recurring payslips or journal entries

Pre fill the recurrent payslip with what ever information is relatively constant for that employee. So casual employee have an hourly rate but blank hours. Full time employees have hourly rates and base hours but blank overtime etc.

No, the online payslip is simply a change in the way that you receive notification of your pay. Your pay will still be transferred via BACs directly into your bank account on the last working day of each month as normal.

Yes, you can access your online payslip from any computer by logging into MyApps although as with any confidential information, it is recommended that caution is exercised when using shared computers, or computers in shared offices or public areas.
