Hi,
Last evening my daughter  received call on her mobile from an unknown number calming to be from bank. It was told that her debit card has got blocked & whether she wants to get it unblocked. She was asked to give the 16 digit number & then some SMS came with OTP which also she reviled.
After getting SMS from bank when she asked about, it was told that her account is getting updated & she need not worry. Thus five transactions took place. The caller even told that he is from bank, if she is having some doubt she may even give the number to police. This happened within a 20 minutes phone call.
Later when we took printout of pass book we could see that the 5 transactions were through ECOM to 5 different accounts of MPESA, PAYTM,SBIBUDDY,Billdesk-Ecomme and IDEAMONEY.
We blocked the debit card using SMS service. The 24hr help line of PNB was not working.
Today I made a police complaint at Trombay police station and to my surprise police told that this type of cases are many from Anushaktinagar. As I was not aware of it so I bring it to the notice of you all.
The number from which my daughter received the call is +918677880384. When we tried to trace the caller ID using 'true caller' it gives no name but' 25 people reported it as spam' & location shows as 'Bihar'.
The man was so desperate that she again called my daughter today morning. She did not receive the call & blocked the caller.
We will also make a complaint to PNB on Monday (today bank was closed as being 4th Saturday).
Be cateful.

Best wishes
