Hi all,

I had a number of people ask me whether Geb is maintained via various channels so it's probably high time to make it official and make an announcement.

My personal and professional circumstances have changed significantly meaning that I no longer have the capacity nor the interest needed to keep maintaining the project.

I've added a note about the project no longer being maintained to both the site and the repository to hopefully make it obvious that this is the case.

Thanks to all of the users of Geb who made working on the project over the years very satisfying for me!

Marcin

Hi Marcin,

Thank you for your update and for all the work you've put into maintaining Geb over the years. It's been a valuable tool for many of us.

Given that Geb is no longer being maintained, could you recommend any alternative tools or frameworks that might serve as a good replacement? We're particularly interested in something that offers similar capabilities in browser automation and testing.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for everything!

Best regards,

Jonny Carter

As a final note on this mailing list, I wanted to reply to this thread, just in case anyone found their way to this place on the web. Geb is being maintained going forward as a subproject of the Apache Groovy project. You can follow along, contribute, and collaborate at https://github.com/apache/groovy-geb.

Best,

Jonny Carter
Geb Maintainer
