Hello,
I am trying to install Google Gears on my Firefox 3. I am using
Windows Vista. Everytime I start the installer, it downloads Gears
from the internet and restarts all browsers. After the restart Firefox
is redirected to the Gears-Site and Gears is not installed on my
default Browser Firefox. Gears is only installed on the Internet
Explorer...

Then I tried to report this Problem with the form:
http://gears.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=report_problem#

Two problems with this form:
* There is only Firefox2 and Firefox1, both are deprecated. I use
Firefox3...
* I have to enter a version number from gears. But I Can not install
Gears, so I do not have a version number... and on Internet Explorer
it only shows: Gears-Version PRODUKT_VERSION

Just wanted to add to this thread that I have the identical problem
trying to install Gears on my Windows Vista, but with IE 7.0. It
dowloads and restarts all browsers. After the restart I am no better
off and the cycle continues. I came here hoping for a solution. Any
suggestions?

I am having the same trouble with the beta of Windows 7.

I think it may be due to it being the 64 bit version (I found some
patches for Linux 64bit, but not Windows)

Check your OS if it is 64 bit that is probably why.

I am using Windows Vista 32 bit and Firefox 3.06. Seems like a very
common configuration.

Hello,
I am total frustrated about this. I got no idea how to get Gears
installed on Firefox, no help and no hint from Google either. I filled
out the problem form, I started this thread, no answer from Google, I
even filed an issue on the Gears project:
http://code.google.com/p/gears/issues/detail?id=836

What can I do to get Gears running in Firefox, any other ideas?

It might be disabled because of firefox setting that you might change
some one or some of your application prevent/change it.

About installing google gears.
I found the problem from this link.
When you use authentication proxy it might not install..

Why do I see a connection error when I try to install?
