Dear Hon Chan and Legco staff

On behalf of the concern group, I'm writing to express my gratitude for Hon Chan's time on 9 Dec to discuss the captioned matter and the assistance of the Legco staff.  As indicated by Hon Chan in the phone conversation, the officials of Education Bureau and Food and Health Bureau had agreed to exempt the new students from Mainland from the quarantine requirement and the Innovation and Technology Bureau will follow up on this to redesign the Return2HK app to accommodate this change of policy. Relative to the challenge of managing the Covid-19 pandemic in the city, resolving this matter seems a low-hanging fruit, which should be handled expeditiously.  I'm going to write to the relevant bureaux to follow up and further attention from Hon Chan is much appreciated.  I'd appreciate it if a written reply from Legco on this matter can be furnished as soon as possible.
I'd also take this opportunity to wish Hon Chan and his colleagues a Merry Christmas and a Successful Year of 2021 in public services.

Yours sincerely
Simon Wang
