Hi everyone,
If you have been running ads on Facebook for a while, you probably know that account verification is no longer optional if you want to stay active. Verifying your account is one of the best ways to build trust with Meta and avoid those sudden account restrictions or paused campaigns.
I wanted to share a quick breakdown of the verification process based on the latest 2026 requirements to help you keep your accounts secure.
1. Pre-Verification ChecklistBefore you start, make sure you meet these requirements or the "Start Verification" button might not even appear:
Eligibility: Meta usually prompts for verification if you need specific features, run ads in regulated categories, or triggered a security check.
Admin Access: You must have full administrative control of the Business Portfolio.
Data Accuracy: Ensure your business name, address, and contact info in Meta Business Suite match your legal documents exactly.
Prepare high-resolution, color scans (PDF or JPEG) of the following:
Business Registration: Articles of incorporation, business licenses, or registration certificates.
Identity Proof: A valid passport, national ID, or driver’s license for the account admin.
Address Proof: Recent utility bills (phone, internet, etc.) or business bank statements.
Domain/Email: Access to your business email or website domain for the verification code.
Access Security Center: Go to Meta Business Suite -> Settings -> Business Settings -> Security Center.
Start Verification: If eligible, click the "Start Verification" button. If it is greyed out, you may need to reach a higher spending threshold first.
Enter Details: Fill in your legal business information.
Upload Documents: Submit the files you prepared earlier.
Confirm & Verify: Choose a method to receive your verification code (Email, Phone, or Domain Verification) and enter it to finish.
If your business uses monthly invoicing (line of credit), the process is often much simpler as you can use your existing credit line info.
Never provide false info. If Meta detects unauthorized representation, they may "blackball" the account, leading to permanent restrictions.
Has anyone gone through the 2026 verification process yet? If you have run into any specific hurdles with the new system, feel free to share your experience below.
Best,
