I used GDocs to sync my Outlook Notes with my Droid, since that is a
feature that Andriod/Google/HTC decided to leave out. I utilize
Gsyncit to sync my Outlook Notes to Google Documents (it can also sync
calendar and addresses) and it does a great job. After all of the
problems that have arisen with GDocs and the fact that it appears to
be unsupported, I have gone to Documents to Go. Ok so it costs $14.99,
but it works beautifully with Google Documents, Desktop, and local SD.
Any changes to a Google document on your Droid are saved back to
Google Documents at www.google.com and it works seamlessly. I then use
Gsyncit to sync back to Outlook on my desktop. Yes you do have to
click on the sync button on the Outlook plugin, but that is no worse
than syncing with a Blackberry or IPhone.

Documents to Go, although a good package, is a bit over the top just
for displaying notes that have been sychronised using gSyncit.
Personally, I use Docs Pics, which has a notes features that works
very well (apart from not having an automatic sync).

gSyncit is excellent for anybody using Outlook.

I agree Docs Pics is an adequate free alternative, as long as you are
making simple notes and do not care about simply formatting, like line
spacing or if you don't mind dealing with issues that arise when
Google decides to change a feature in their editor and you have to
wait on the fix for the free app, which may not be as timely as you
prefer.
