I have been using gdocs for some time without any problems. Now it
says "invalid credentials" and will not sync. Suggestions?

This is maybe related to my issue. I installed it today (HTC Desire Z,
stock firmware), and cannot connect to Google docs. It says "login
failed". Tried all combos of the checkboxes. Made sure the password
was right. Tried both with @gmail.com and without. Saw the thread a
year back, there was similar problems then.

I have the same issue. I use the same google account for my calendar
and contacts they sync just fine. Gdocs was syncing fine as of 3
weeks ago, and now it pops up a small message "Invalid Credentials".
I have not changed any settings in Gdocs.
Anyone have a fix on this?

Could it possibly a problem with google's new "two factor" (?) authentication scheme?  Have you turned that on?

Login to your google account. At the top, on the right, under
"Personal Settings" --> "Security" there is "Using Two Step Verification", and
also, "Authorizing applications & sites". Those two links should do it for you.

My Dext was adding a ending whitespace on login name
making auth error. ( using screen keyboard )
I have no error if I use physical keyboard on DEXT ( Cliq ).
