Greetings All,
I have been on the DNS hunt for a while now in the search for a good DNS w/geoip solution and have looked at almost everything including BIND, PowerDNS, SkyDNS, CoreDNS, and a bunch of other stuff until I came across GDNSD recently which hopefully will be what I need to get going. Being still new to gdnsd, I have read that it can be configured to allow for geoip directing which is a driving force for digging into this effort now.
I have 2 servers that I want to use for setting up 2 nameservers (NS1 and NS2) on a domain name that I have registered over at Godaddy. Additionally, I will be running some web servers as well and 2 of them will be on the nameservers (for initial testing only) and then I will be adding a couple of additional web servers in geographically separated locations so that there might be 4 or more servers geographically separated where I want to send the user contacting our single URL to the server that is physically close to them which is my interest in GDNSD.
The 2 servers that I currently have are running Ubuntu 15.04 and 14.04 and I have just installed the base packages for gdnsd on them through the application manager.
I am wondering if someone might be so kind as to give me a bit of guidance on the configurations and getting geoip set up and running?
Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers and have a great day,
Lonnie
