I recently tried powering up my Gdium Liberty 1000 after it had been
off for a few weeks, but nothing happened when I held the power
button. When I initially plugged in the AC adapter, the green power
LED flashed for a split second, but then all LEDs remained off
(usually the orange battery LED remains on while the battery charges).

I have tried powering it up while unplugged (just battery power),
using only the AC adapter (battery removed), and with both AC and
battery power. I've also tried "resetting" any potential onboard
memory state by removing the battery and memory then holding the power
button for 30 seconds (I've successfully used this method on other
laptops; see "Best answer" at http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-31465-laptop-shut-off-will-not-turn-back-on
), but it still wouldn't turn on with battery or AC power or both.

I noticed on one occasion where I was plugging in the battery that the
orange battery LED turned on as soon as I plugged in the battery and
remained on until I disconnected the battery (no AC power was
connected at all). But that situation is not easy to reproduce;
subsequent battery connecting/disconnecting did not result in the
orange LED being illuminated.

It seems that plugging in the battery usually results in the green
power LED flashing on once for a split second, similar to what happens
when I plug in the AC adapter (which consistently causes the green LED
to flash). This is why I believe the issue is related to the Gdium's
power circuitry and not the AC adapter or the battery.

The AC adapter appears to be fine as it has its own LED that remains
on when the adapter is plugged into the wall.

Any ideas for how to solve this problem would be much appreciated.
I'd really like to be able to use my Gdium again.
