Hi all,

I'm porting openSUSE to Gdium as a GSoC project. Now the NIC on Gdium
doesn't work.

The NIC on Gdium is Realtek 8139 and I have compiled the driver into
kernel (8139too), but I got messages from dmesg as below:
    8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.28
8139too 0000:00:10.0: Chip not responding, ignoring board
8139too: probe of 0000:00:10.0 failed with error -5

'lspci' gave the below message,
00:10.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-9139/8139c/8139c+ (rev 10)

'ifconfig -a' command output nothing about eth0.

'ifconfig eth0 up' got an error message
eth0: unknown interface: No such device

and 'ifup eth0' got
    Interface eth0 is not available

I've googled this problem and most solutions suggested to reattach the
NIC physically. I think this would be my last choice, so I want to know
whether someone else met this problem on Gdium before? Or any other ideas?

Note that the NIC can work correctly under G-linux system.

Thanks.
