FYI:
As part of the Digital Revolution Exhibition in London, Google is collaborating with the Barbican Centre, a media arts center in London, on a project called DevArt. DevArt is a celebration of art made with code, designed to inspire the next generation of developers and artists by reframing coding as a creative art form. It seeks to push the boundaries of what is possible when art and technology collide.
There are opportunities for developers around the world to participate in this project, and we've released details on the Google Developers Blog of how they can participate: http://googledevelopers.blogspot.com/2014/02/devart-your-code-belongs-in-art-gallery.html

As you plan your GDG initiatives for February and March, here are a few ways you can get involved:
Forward the top part of this email to your GDG mailing list in case there are developers who are interested in taking part
If your GDG is interested then you can plan your regular February / March GDG meetup to be around Digital Art. Fill this form latest by Wednesday 19th 2014 to indicate interest
Invite an artist to speak at the February / March meetup and talk about their inspirations and the process of creating art (or digital art).
Invite artists and additional Arts & Technology communities to join your meetup. You can share the YouTube video with them.
Host your meetup at a local art museum / Gallery.
Check with your members if they’ve done Digital Art projects that they might want to present to the rest of the group.
Invite members to present a unique digital art project they found inspiring - even if it wasn’t their creation.
