Hello technology lovers!

This is a place for people new to the GTUG to introduce themselves. Want to develop an app or just looking for fellow tech people, I'm sure you'll find a fun and creative bunch to exchange ideas with. Tell us why you're here and let's get to know one another!

Hi Mark!

Well, we have to start somewhere.. a city as big as Birmingham, how could we NOT have a GTUG here, right?

Thanks for your support by the way! It would be great to see you sometime!  :)

Have dabbled with Android by developing an app, and there-in are my interests.

Android, Ruby, C#, Postgres and the like.

Located Peterborough way, so not too far out.

Welcome! We should be having an event next week. It'll be our first event. It would be good if you could make it! I'm just trying to get something pieced together, see where we can do it.

I'm a keen Android user (I'd say I'm just about the sensible side of 'fanboy'; I hope owning an iPad counts as a counterweight to stop people reading too much into that statement) and my day job is web/.NET development for a property advisor firm.

I'm mainly here to find others that share similar interests but also plan to get into Android development in the not-too-distant future - however learning that directly helps me at work is taking priority at the moment so Android development is on the back-burner.

Hello everyone. I've no specific reason for being here, other than a real interest in technology and as a user of many of the big G's offerings and Birmingham being my home town, thought it would be wise to see what's going on here.

I also home educate my 11 year old son, who is also a tech fan and Guser, so anything that helps him develop his interests seems an obvious choice to me.

Good to 'meet' you all, maybe one day that will be in the flesh, or over a hangout?

P

Great to have you here Paul, hope this group picks up with more activity...

If your son is at all interested, I'm looking for an apprentice coder for my product DiaryBooker.com

He may be a bit young, but if he is keen.... you never know!

Also I'm hoping to organise a startup weekend in Cheltenham later this year... may not happen, but you never know!

Thank you John; I hope the group picks up with more activity also!

Thanks also for your offer, I think my son is only just beginning his journey into coding for your offer to make sense to him or to you, but as he progresses and matures, if there is another opportunity he might just be interested.

Good to 'meet' you - and good luck with organising the Cheltenham weekend!
