【活动总结】

2018年11月25日，厦门谷歌开发者社区（厦门GDG）的2018 GDG DevFest—Xiamen在厦门大学科艺中心成功举行。本次活动以人工智能为主题，参与人员包括厦大及周边高校学生、高校教师、企业高管、工程师、设计师、创业者、中学生等，总人数逾五百人。

活动邀请厦门大学信息科学与技术学院杨蔷副书记致辞。他向大家表示欢迎，表示希望通过这次活动，推动政产学研一体化协作，促进高校与企业的技术交流，推动青年学生及企业工程师了解最新人工智能技术，在国家人工智能发展战略上做出自己的贡献。

火炬管委会软件园管理处徐春航副处长在致辞中以在座“最老的程序员”身份对这次活动表示热烈祝贺，他盛赞这次活动是一场技术交流的盛宴，是厦门谷歌开发者的盛大节日，也是厦门软件从业者的盛会。他表示，在科学发展日新月异的今天，对厦门的软件产业寄予厚望。

厦门大学中美青年创客交流中心办公室主任、信息科学与技术学院教授级高级工程师、厦门谷歌开发者社区发起人与组织者郑灵翔老师向大家介绍了谷歌开发者社区的情况和举办的主要活动。今年5月，厦门大学的同学们在谷歌公司的支持下组织参与了Machine Learning Study Jam的学习，获得了由谷歌公司认证的结业证书。在活动现场，我们为Machine Learning Study Jam的学员郑重举行了结业式，由机器学习方向谷歌开发者专家郑炜老师为学员代表颁发结业证书,同时还宣布在12月将启动新一期Study Jam活动。

接下来，华为P20、Mate20手机上的声纹识别功能技术提供方，厦门大学信息科学与技术学院洪青阳副教授以“人工智能语音技术”为开篇，分享了人工智能的发展及其在语音识别上的工作成果，拉开了人工智能主题分享活动的序幕。在演讲的最后他还做了基于深度学习的语音合成展示，合成的语音自然流畅，效果惊艳全场。然后是谷歌开发者专家王玉成老师的主题演讲“TensorFlow Lite现状及展望”，为大家分享人工智能开源工具TensorFlow Lite 技术在移动设备和物联网上的应用，这些应用使得人工智能的触角深入到大家身处的各个场景。另一位致力于机器学习研究方向的谷歌开发者专家郑炜老师，展示了神经网络理解视频信息的应用。计算机视觉技术的突飞猛进和深度学习的发展不仅拓宽了图像领域的应用，同时也给互联网视频内容带来了新的可能性。数据显示，人们在视频上花费的时间是图片的2.6倍，越来越多的人正在主动成为视频内容的消费者，当前视频信息理解已成为人工智能研究与应用的下一个风口，理解了视频信息，机器不仅可以自动向你做个性化视频推荐，甚至可以写影评、看图写诗、乃至生成视频。厦门大学博士生李卓儒给大家分享了艺术与人工智能的跨界应用“深度学习助力的动漫制作”，介绍了自己在动漫上色中使用人工智能工具TensorFlow的心得、作品。来自深图智服的CEO吴鹏程先生和搭档、资深架构师陈源源先生为大家带来“AI – 2D到3D”的分享，在他们的工作中使用深度学习进行图像识别，并将技术应用在人脸识别、全景图像的生等场景中。上午的最后一个议题是“人工智能的创新机遇--政产学研协作圆桌论坛”，由郑灵翔老师主持，厦门火炬高技术产业开发区管理委员会软件园管理处副处长徐春航先生、英特尔创新业务部总监徐茂荣先生、海云捷迅联合创始人兼CEO张征宇先生、派美特智能科技派美特众创空间总经理朱武强先生、谷歌开发者专家王玉成老师、深图智服CEO吴鹏程先生、厦门大学信息科学与技术学院副教授洪青阳老师众位重量级嘉宾做客圆桌论坛，就人工智能的人才培养、校企对接、创业活动、政产学研协同等问题进行了深入讨论。

下午的分会场更是气氛热烈。因报名人数大大超过预期，两位GDE王玉成老师、郑炜老师的Codelab分别增加为连续的两个场次，引导大家动手实验，实现简单的TensorFlow Lite移动端应用、神经网络实际应用程序。由设计师杨伟杰先生、厦门大学管理学院副教授孙建国老师、厦门大学信息学院教授级高工郑灵翔老师联袂主持的Workshop：Design Sprint（设计冲刺）吸引了各个不同专业的参会者大开脑洞，为未来的老人和儿童设计创新应用。在另外一个会场，厦门大学信息学院吴德文老师为大家带来“Build Your First Android App in Kotlin”的Codelab，厦门大学博士生李卓儒给大家详细讲解如何用TensorFlow给动漫上色，都给在场的参会者带来了全新的技术体验。在展厅的一角，还设置了历届中美青年创客大赛获奖作品展，吸引了许多参会者的目光。在活动的最后一个议题“谷歌教育南部区域联盟研讨会”上，在作为谷歌教育南部区域联盟项目牵头高校厦门大学的核心项目成员郑灵翔老师的主持下，来自厦门大学、厦门大学嘉庚学院、集美大学的数位老师进行了人工智能方面的教学科研交流。

美好的时光总是短暂，有限的时间里，充满了新鲜有趣的知识，功能强大的技术，令人耳目一新的应用，思想的碰撞，灵感的点燃。厦门2018 DevFest在依依不舍的气氛中结束了，大家翘首期待来年，再见！

[Activity Summary]

On November 25, 2018, the 2018 GDG DevFest-Xiamen of the Xiamen Developer Community (Xiamen GDG) was successfully held at the Xiamen University Arts and Crafts Center. The event is based on artificial intelligence. The participants include students from Xiamen University and surrounding universities, university teachers, corporate executives, engineers, designers, entrepreneurs, and middle school students. The total attendance number is more than 500.

The event invited Yang Qiang, the Deputy Secretary of the School of Information Science and Technology of Xiamen University, to give a speech. He welcomed everyone and expressed the hope that this activity will promote the integration of government, industry, and research, promote the technical exchanges between universities and enterprises, and promote the understanding of the latest artificial intelligence technologies of young students and enterprise engineers.

In the speech, Deputy Director Xu Chunhang of the Torch Management Committee Software Park Management Office expressed his warm congratulations on the event as the "oldest programmer" in the hall. He praised the event as a feast of technical exchange of Xiamen GDG. The grand festival is also a grand event for Xiamen software practitioners. He said that in today's fast-changing scientific development, he has high hopes for the software industry in Xiamen.

Director of the Office of the China-US Young Maker Exchange Center of Xiamen University, Professor-level Senior Engineer of the School of Information Science and Technology, and the promoter and organizer of Xiamen GDG, Mr. Zheng Lingxiang, introduced the situation of the Google Developer Community and the main events. In May of this year, the students of Xiamen University participated in the Machine Learning Study Jam with the support of Google, and obtained the certificate of completion certified by Google. At the event, we solemnly held the finale for the students of Machine Learning Study Jam. The machine learining Google developer expert Zheng Yu to give the students certificates of completion. It also announced that a new Study Jam event will be launched in December.

Next, the voiceprint recognition function technology provider on Huawei P20 and Mate20 mobile phones, Associate Professor Hong Qingyang of the School of Information Science and Technology of Xiamen University started with “Artificial Intelligence Voice Technology” and shared the development of artificial intelligence and its recognition on speech recognition. The results of the work opened the prelude to the artificial intelligence theme sharing activities. At the end of the speech, he also made a speech synthesis display based on deep learning. The synthesized speech was natural and smooth, and the effect was amazing. Then is the keynote speech "TensorFlow Lite Status and Outlook" by Google developer expert Wang Yucheng, sharing the application of the artificial intelligence open source tool TensorFlow Lite technology on mobile devices and the Internet of Things. These applications make the tentacles of artificial intelligence deeply influence everyone. Another Google developer expert, Zheng Yi, who is dedicated to the direction of machine learning research, demonstrated the application of neural networks to understand video information. The rapid advancement of computer vision technology and the development of deep learning have not only broadened the application of the image field, but also brought new possibilities to Internet video content. The data shows that people spend 2.6 times more time on the video, and more and more people are actively becoming consumers of video content. The current video information understanding has become the next hotspot of artificial intelligence research and application. Understanding the video Information, the machine can not only automatically make personalized video recommendations to you, but even write reviews, read pictures, and even generate videos. Li Zhuoru, a Ph.D. student at Xiamen University, shared the cross-border application of art and artificial intelligence, “Animation Production with Deep Learning and Help”, and introduced his experience and works of using artificial intelligence tools TensorFlow in anime coloring. Mr. Wu Pengcheng, CEO DEEPIR, and Mr. Chen Yuanyuan, senior architect of DEEPIR, shared the “AI – 2D to 3D” sharing, using deep learning for image recognition in their work, and applying technology on face recognition, panorama image generation, etc. The last topic in the morning was “Innovative Opportunities for Artificial Intelligence – Forum on Collaborative Rounds of Government, Industry, Research and Research”, hosted by Zheng Lingxiang, Mr. Xu Chunhang, Deputy Director of Software Park Management Department of Xiamen Torch High Technology Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, Intel Innovation Business Department Director Mr. Xu Maorong, Mr. Zhang Zhengyu, Co-founder and CEO of Haiyun Jiexun, Mr. Zhu Wuqiang, General Manager of Pitematic Intelligent Technology, and Mr. Wang Yucheng, Google Developer Expert, Mr. Wu Pengcheng, CEO of DEEPIR, Mr. Hong Qingyang, an associate professor of the School of Science and Technology, held a round-table forum for the heavyweight guests. They discussed in depth the issues of artificial intelligence training, school-enterprise docking, entrepreneurial activities, and coordination of government, industry, and research.

The afternoon venue was even more enthusiastic. As the number of applicants greatly exceeded expectations, two Codelabs of GDE Wang Yucheng and Zheng Zheng were both added to two consecutive sessions to guide everyone to experiment and realize the simple TensorFlow Lite mobile application and neural network application. The workshop: Design Sprint, which was hosted by designer Mr. Yang Weijie, associate professor of Xiamen University School of Management, Sun Jianguo, and Xiamen University Information School professor-level senior engineer Zheng Lingxiang, attracted a lot of participants from different professions. In another venue, Mr. Wu Dewen from the School of Information, Xiamen University brought Codelab to “Build Your First Android App in Kotlin”. Li Zhuoru, a Ph.D. student at Xiamen University, explained in detail how to use TensorFlow to color the anime. In the corner of the exhibition hall, the award-winning exhibitions of the previous China-US Youth Maker Competition were also held, which attracted the attention of many participants. At the last topic of the event, "Google Education Southern Regional Alliance Seminar", under the auspices of Zheng Lingxiang, a member of the core project of Xiamen University, which is led by the Southern Regional Alliance Program of Google Education, teachers of Xiamen University, Xiamen University Jiageng College, Jimei University conducted teaching and research exchanges on artificial intelligence.
