Google Developers:
Fortunately we are in HQ5 again this month in the same conference room.
Please note there have been some changes to the way free WiFi is accessed at VSP.
Keep in mind that this is for your protection as well.
The new network is "Vision-Guest."
Unless you are a VSP Employee or Contractor, you will have to jump through a few extra hoops to access.
The bad part is that I cannot set up the access in advance. It has to be done one-by-one as you reach HQ5.
This is how it works.
- You get to HQ5 and try to connect to Vision-Guest. You can connect, but then when you open your browser, you are redirected to a web page with a form for requesting WiFi access.
- I am not sure if the system validates any of the data in the form, but I need to recognize you by your first and last name. However, what needs to be accurate is the VSP email address of the sponsoring VSP Employee like me, BobRo AT vsp DOT com , which needs to be entered.
- You send the request.
- I get the automated email in my VSP email and I click on the link to approve you.
- I am presented with a username and password to give you.
- I can send it to you over text or email it to you if you have email over 4G on your Android phone or simply let you see my screen if you are standing right there with me in the meeting.
I am trying to get the other VSP Employees to help and I think Nathan will, too. If you see someone there that is a VSP Employee, then ask them for their email address and use that if you don't want to wait for me. For some reason contractors cannot approve requests.
The good part of this that that we will be safer from any hackers that attempt to come to the meeting. I think we can all agree that free, unrestricted WiFi is a bad idea in general, and we were fortunate enough to use it for this long without any problems.

Please see this map
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6795157 for how the get to HQ5 and where to park. VSPs new building, HQ5, is located just west of the big Moss Adams building. Please park in the parking lot north of HQ5 (where the square is on the map) . I will be out there with your name tag to bring you in. Do NOT attempt to access the building from the South entrance.
I still need last names for Sai, Kate, Mitra, Shyam, Maithili, Meena, Molly and Eugen.
Please provide your last name, to me in a private message or otherwise, so that you are not held up by security.
I do not provide my cell over the meetup announcements, but anyone who physically shows up at the meeting may have it for future reference - just ask me at the meeting.
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Bob
