Google I/O 2013

Google I/O is coming up May 15-17. 

Since I am sure not everyone will be going, I want to see if there is interest in a hosted Google I/O Extended viewing/hackathon/code lab.

If you would reply with your interest level (full day, evening, live viewing, recorded viewing, etc.) that would get me a start. 

The hackathon and code lab portions would follow the keynote and session viewings, and if you have a preference for topics to focus on for the session viewings that would also help.

Google I/O Sessions and Agenda have been made live.

I will be creating an event for a live Keynote viewing (Wednesday, May 15th from noon to 3) at a special location, but I just want everyone to be aware that there is limited space, so we'll just take the first people who say they are coming up to the venue's limit.

Lunch is going to be provided by Google.

Following the viewing I am in the process of securing another location where we can watch sessions, do some coding, and otherwise just enjoy the rest of I/O.

There are still two more spots open for the keynote viewing (and lunch) at Google Chapel Hill.

Also, I haven't been able to wrangle up a sufficiently large space for further viewing, so we may end up being on our own to do the session viewing.

We'll have a meeting some time after I/O ends to share what we took away from it, and maybe we can get one or more people who actually attended to tell us about their experience.

Looking forward to seeing those of you coming tomorrow around 11:45 or so.

It should be a good time going over what people learned and the big things to take away.

We'll also use the time to plan for the summer, and do any group logistics that may need to be done.
