American Underground has opened up their Raleigh and Durham facilities for us (GDG Research Triangle) to put on an event celebrating the 1.0 release of Dart. The events will run concurrently from 1pm until 5pm on February 8th. The Raleigh venue is not all that large (maybe 20-30 people tops), but the Durham one should allow for around 80 people.
In order to pull this off I need volunteers to step up, because I can't be in two places at once. Google has provided some excellent resources for people to do a tech talk, lead a codelab, and are even working on materials for facilitating a hackathon. The materials will be posted here:
https://www.dartlang.org/events/2013/flight-school/#resourcesAdditionally, if you have developed something using Dart and would like to demo it for people that would be great too.
If you have any interest in helping out please let me know what you'd like to do and which location you'd like to be at so I can start to finalize the agendas for the two locations. We'll probably be having our February 4th meeting at the Raleigh location and will focus on something Dart related or allow people to give practice presentations or present their plans for their codelab/hackathon if that's of interest.
