Hello everyone,

Hopefully your fall has been good so far. Either way it's about to get better because GDG LAN is only two weeks away. We have boxes of prizes and swag galore, tons of servers set up and ready to go, pizzas on order, and snacks and beverages being bought. We actually got two more sponsors just last week, Vroom Foods and Patriot Memory! So basically I'm sending everyone this as a reminder, and to fill you all in on some recent happenings.

First and most important, the total attendance count has changed. Due to power issues in Cumnock we have been forced to drop the total from 100 to 60, so if you haven't signed up yet and are planning to go (especially with friends) make sure you and everyone you know go over to http://www.umltickets.com as soon as you can to grab tickets before they are gone. For an updated count of registered players, visit the 'Players' section of our website, http://gdg.uml.edu.

We have finalized the schedule for the event, and while I can't tell you everything (don't want to spoil the fun) I can say what games we are featuring and what games we have tournaments for. So here are some fancy lists:

Tournament Games

  • Counter-Strike: Source

  • Team Fortress 2

Featured Games

  • Tournament games listed above\

  • Unreal Tournament 2004
  • Left 4 Dead
  • Command & Conquer 3
  • Borderlands
  • Warcraft 3: TFT
  • Starcraft: Brood War
  • Diablo 2: LOD
  • Gungame (CSS mod)
  • Prop Hunt (TF2 mod)
  • DotA (WC3 custom map)
  • Zap!
  • Soldat

Just to make it clear, featured games are games we will be focusing on throughout the event at various times. This doesn't mean you have to play that game, just that we will have more servers for it up, and we will have patches and downloads available where possible (downloads are strictly for mods, maps, etc., you still need the game itself).

As a final reminder, you can walk in the day of the event and buy a ticket assuming we have any spots remaining. These tickets will cost you an additional $10 dollars on top of the normal price though, so if you think you'll be going it's highly recommended you buy a ticket beforehand. Plus, it helps us prepare! For anyone who has registered already, expect an e-mail this week with a survey to fill out and a download link to the waiver form, and thanks for your support!

That about wraps everything up. Thanks again and I hope to see you all there on the 14th!
