Are you a student developer in a tertiary institution and you program
in C# and .NET? If yes, then this is for you. Please note that
registration ends on May 31st.

This is an academic plug-in development competition that involves the
creation of innovative oil and gas software application, using the
Schlumberger Ocean <http://www.ocean.slb.com/Pages/developers.aspx>* software
development framework, as plug-ins to the industry-leading Petrel E&P
software platform. Ocean <http://www.ocean.slb.com/Pages/developers.aspx>* has
run several competitions in many countries over the last 4 years. This
will be run for the second time in Nigeria and for the first time in
both Ghana
and Ivory Coast. We look forward to seeing how innovative the students will be.

The Ocean <http://www.ocean.slb.com/Pages/developers.aspx>* Competition is
the place where the best minds from academia and industry gather to work
out solutions to solve particular E & P industry challenges. It is an
effort to tap innovation through collaboration between academia, E & P
operators and service providers.

The following requirements must to be met if the university wishes to
compete:

- A good geoscientist to be supported by a programmer with very good
knowledge of the C# programming language. Knowledge of

* is a plus but not a necessity as the competition will include an
introduction to the development platform.
- This competition is opened to several teams per school. However only
the best abstracts will be reviewed and shortlisted to enter the final
stages. Deadlines will be communicated.
