Ooh, some awesome news, if you are a student, you will get a chance to win a signed Raspberry Pi by Eben Upton (creator of the RPi) if you sign up and attend PyCon Ireland in October. :-D

There are lots of cool visitors coming to Dublin like Heroku's Kenneth Reitz and even book signings by Ian Ozsvald ("High Performan Python"), and Harry Percival ("Test-Driven Development with Python"). Harry will be running a workshop on TDD with Python at PyConIE as well.

Diarmuid (Chair) has more info re. food and entertainment in his email announcement below.
If you have specific questions, email py...@python.ie.

You can also find more info and tix at: http://python.ie/pycon

Hi Everyone,

With PyConIE 2014 around the corner, we have a few announcements to make.

It's tradition at this stage for PyConIE to give away RaspberryPis to students, this year is no different. We have a RaspberryPi model B, signed by Eben Upton which we will be including in our Raffle for Students.

Ian Ozsvald and Harry Percival will be holding a book signing event at PyCon Ireland this year, courtesy of O'Reilly. Ian will be signing copies of his book, "High Performance Python", and Harry will be signing his book, "Test-Driven Development with Python". We will have 20 copies of each book to give away, so keep an eye on the schedule to avail of this opportunity!

This year, PyCon Ireland will be providing, lunch and a tea break each day for all attendees and this year, based on feedback, we're also providing breakfast. In previous years, we provided dinner although we couldn't provide it to everyone. Therefore, this year, on Saturday evening, we have arrangements made with Milano's restaurant on Haddington Rd, and with The Farm on Leeson St Upper where we will be reserving an area for those who wish to have a meal before going to the pub. We will be sending out a survey with menus and prices to attendees early next week to reserve a spot in either restaurant.

After dinner, from 9pm onwards, we will be having a party in the Leeson Lounge thanks to our sponsor, Mandrill.

Of course, if you don't have your ticket yet, you can pick one up here: http://python.ie/pycon

PyCon Ireland would like to thank our sponsors this year. Demonware, Brightwater, Facebook, Mandrill, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Dedsert, Pluralsight, Fieldaware, Citrix, Metricfire, Python Academy, RTE Digital and more to be announced.

See you there,
The PyCon Ireland 2014 committee.
