On the 7-8 November 2013 we will be hosting the Dev4Dev Hackathon in Tel Aviv, Israel, an event that will focus on Developing Apps for the Developing World.

The aim of Dev4Dev is to connect Israel’s leading entrepreneurial and technological community with the needs of the developing world. We hope to harness the talent of the next generation of programmers and developers for addressing the most pressing needs of the developing world by raising awareness and forming partnerships with local stakeholders in these countries.

We are therefore reaching out to potential partners on the ground that could help us in identifying relevant tech needs as well as local team members, mentors and advisors who could help in developing mobile and webs apps that are appropriate for and answer needs in the developing world.  Connections to Google Offices in the developing world who could assist in any of these areas would be very welcome, specifically:

1. Identifying developing world challenges that could be addressed by a mobile or web app developed during the Hackathon.  "Tech Needs" can be submitted online.

2. Virtual mentoring or joining teams remotely during or before the Hackathon (7-8 November).

3. Follow up support in further developing and then implementing prototypes developed at the Hackathon.

Best,

Caylee
