Hi all,
I've just got back from presenting a short career guidance-type talk
at King's College London (KCL) University, and wanted to let
everyone know that not only was it a lot of fun, but I believe it
could a very beneficial step towards breaking down some of the
current barriers between academia and industry.
I chatted to Steffen, a lecturer at KCL, before the talk, and
learned that many people who have spoke in the weeks before me
(Martijn, and many others on this list) have made a real difference
in getting students to think more in-depth about their careers,
which is surely a great thing.
Kudos also to Barry and the entire RecWorks crew for kick-starting
this, and I would definitely recommend others get involved! If
you're interested, I've put my slides up on slideshare:

I've also tweeted about this as well:

If anyone has any questions then feel free to get in touch (or give
Barry at RecWorks a shout :-) ).
Best wishes,
Daniel
