Hi guys,
I hope you are well. It’s been a while since I last wrote but we have been busy behind the scenes.
I’m looking for help from people with experience of interviewing for tech roles and who are available on 28th June to help with an event at UCL for members of several tech communities (the Graduate Developer Community, London Java Community, Front Endgineers London and London Groovy and Grails User Group). If this is you, please read on!
The event is a Meet a Mentor style event called Career Hacking: Interview Skills. The idea behind the event is to help members of the tech community understand how to approach their next interview. Interviewees are often very doubtful about the best way to prepare for an interview as they don’t know what the interviewers will be looking for. We also know that interviewing is very subjective activity as approaches and opinions are based around a hiring manager’s personal experience. Our event brings together a panel of hiring managers with a variety of experiences so attendees have the opportunity to ask questions and understand the different points of view. At the end of the event they will be in a better position to work out their own strategy and so approach their next interview with more confidence. Just as with our *normal* meet a mentor events the aim is to share experience and answer questions. As this is not a recruitment/match making event and no actual vacancies will be discussed you don't have to be currently hiring: all that really matters is that you have interviewed for tech roles in the past.
If you would like to get involved, or if you would like to know, more please contact me directly.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Maggie
