Within the last 24 hours, the GData Contacts API is returning HTTP Status 500 Error: "A Temporary internal problem has occurred.  Try again later" when performing any operation.  Other users of the GData Contacts API are experiencing the same issue.  See this thread on StackOverflow:

Are you aware of this issue?  When can we expect a fix?

Best,
Donald

The server teams are more likely to be monitoring StackOverflow than this group.  At this point hopefully the issue is resolved.

Can you provide me a link to the forums for the Server teams?

The issue is resolved in the USA at least.  But some of my customers in other countries such as Brazil are still experiencing the issue.

Thanks,
Donald

Did a little digging internally, issue should be resolved world wide.  At one point I had thought there was a support link on the api, but Contacts doesn't seem to have it.  Sorry about that.  Sounds like the server folks are also going to work on providing that info in a docs update in the future.

The Google Contacts API is producing frequent 500 error once again, this time with the message "Transient Problem has occurred, please try later."  The error has been manifesting itself for about a week.  I also reported the issue at code.google.com:

If the responsible parties could be made aware of this issue, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Donald
