Highlights in release 1.34
- support for jdk 1.8 gc log files
- new command line argument "-t" to set desired export type
- improvements to the gui (state of timestamp ruler is saved between
sessions)
- some new memory metrics were introduced to help determine
necessary heap size better
- lots of improvements to the parser
For this release again a number of people have contributed code. I'd
like to thank all of them - they have brought interesting features
to GCViewer!
Outlook for release 1.35
- concurrent loading of log files, no freezing of the gui during
parsing any more. Hans Bausewein has contributed a SwingWorker
implementation, which led to a major refactoring of the whole gui
layer. This will be part of the next release.
- switch from jdk 1.7 to 1.8
Release frequency is a bit low, so I'll try to push out 1.35 a bit
faster than 1.34. But I still won't start announcing release times,
because I don't want to put myself under pressure in a project I'm
doing completely in my spare time :-). SNAPSHOT releases are always
done for the latest commit.
