We visited and liked the 6 month old Maker Space and Co.
Located in Sydney Marrickville.

Run like a gym. You get paid $50 per hour for teaching.

You can hire the space per day or month.
Use all tools after induction.

Computer rooms, meeting ,
pottery, sowing rooms and spaces to set up your own workshop.

Perfect

Awesome - do they have paid staff running the place? Looks well
organised - similar to TechShop in the US - but of course with paid
staff you can do this.

They have partly paid staff and the rest is getting shared work space hours. They also make their money teaching.

Not sure.
The web site tells more.

Sydney is cold bass and I got bronchitis down here.

The web site tells you more. We only got a short intro.
But very friendly.
Sagar got exited. As he is looking for a place to teach electronics.
After going to Robots and Dinosaurs he said.
If I would come here first, I would have been put off from Hackerspaces for life.

First impressions count.

They where all too busy doing their own thing.

The other thing I like to mention is that ones a club has a large workshop aerea, people take their expensive machinery out of storage to give to the club on a loan bases. So that they can actually use them.
I have the same problem.

The other is that they get free new tools such as the XCarve CNC from Inventables.

They ask the company for a free sample and often get it. The catch is that they have to make a valuation video on youtube.

Robodino had one and fully incased it.
Their main tool seems a Laser. They worked on a new one to upgrade it while the other was in constand use.
