Good strong introduction featuring some of my favorite people. Teilhard writes like a poet, "Why are we here?"

For the kind of Global Consciousness I think about the connection with Jung is less clear, though I also, like Duhe, take Jung's universal or cosmic unconscious as at least metaphorically linked to ideas like Teilhard's. In any case the wisdom in all these perspectives is core. We are not simply isolated individuals. Never were, and never will be, despite so much effort, especially in the West, to make it so. We are linked -- by Jung's deep, shared unconscious foundation, by Teilhard's inexorable pull from the future of man, and even, at this time, by the increasingly powerful and ubiquitous Internet and mobile connections. The GCP, of course, is training its instrument on a special manifestation of the deep-lying linkages, namely a product of interaction and interconnection that is foreshadowed by the philosophers, but which is invisible and practically undetectable. (Some would say unbelievable :-) ). Our mission is to change the subtle into the visible, so that it can be studied. As we understand more, we can do more, and It does seem there is much to do.

Thanks, Duhe. Good, thought provoking material. Roger
