My last update note mentioned the prospect of Hurricane Sandy bearing
down on the Eastern seaboard of the US. It did knock out electrical
power for millions, and Princeton was no exception. The GCP server went
down on October 29 and the outage lasted for 4 full days. Many people
wrote, and I want to let you all know that the server and the GCP are
alive and well. In personal terms, we were very fortunate and our home
suffered no damage. The data from all Eggs in the network (except the
Princeton node) were sent as soon as the basket was restarted, and we
have now completed analysis for two new events -- a look at Sandy, and a
look at the US Presidential election. Links are in the "What's New" box.
Thank you all for your good thoughts,
Roger
