Posted: 22 Jun 2022 12:00 AM PDT ChangedTo deliver a better default price-performance for applications, all GKE clusters created with control plane version 1.24 and later have the Balanced Persistent Disk (PD) by default for attached volumes. Additionally, the node boot disk default has also been changed to Balanced Persistent Disk (PD). The new default for attached volumes is applied to all clusters running control plane version 1.24 and later. The new default node boot disk is applied to all new node pools of any node pool version created in a cluster with control plane version 1.24 and later. Existing preferences will not be changed.
