To better align the Genomics API with its successor, the Life Sciences API, we have decided to limit the retention period of operation metadata in the v2alpha1 Genomics API. The new retention period will be 42 days from the creation of the operation, matching the behavior of the  Life Sciences API. This limit will go into effect on September 2nd, at which point all metadata older than 42 days will be deleted. If you wish to retain a copy of any older metadata, please retrieve it before then using the API.

Thanks
Tim

Thank-you for the update, Tim. Is running:

$ gcloud --project my-project alpha genomics operations list > saved_operations.my-project.txt

a sufficient solution for capturing all of your old v2alpha1 operation metadata?

Hi Matt,
Yes, that would be sufficient to capture all operation metadata. Note that it may take a while for large numbers of operations.
