I understand that the Lifesciences API is in beta. We are investing our resources on using the lifesciences API for our commercial NGS needs. Is there a plan to migrate to a fully supported product?

Thanks,

Ilya

Well, the project started in 2014, so I would imagine and would hope to be so after 8 years and two Jonathan transitions ;)

We're very excited by all of the customer interest in and utilization of the Life Sciences API. In addition, we're seeing a lot of interest and usage by non Life Sciences customers as well, who have both common and additional needs. With that in mind, we will continue to support Life Science use cases as we plan to grow our offering into a more comprehensive batch solution over time with the plan to GA the product then. We're not ready to share dates yet, but we'd love to hear more from you about your specific use cases to inform our roadmap.

Thanks,
Shamel

Hi Shamel,

That is good news to hear.  But do you think a more comprehensive solution in the life sciences cloud-based market is possible?  There are several major players there, and the best has market share is 29%.  If you look the evolution of the past 7 years here in this group, in how much work it took to explore just a portion of the product-space and now just beginning to test integration opportunities with Cloud Healthcare among others, it's a huge uphill battle.  I'm sure a batch solution is the lowest-hanging fruit, but a more comprehensive solution set might be a tricky path.

Though I'm happily optimistic to see what evolves.

Best,
Paul
