Google Cloud Print from an Android phone appears to be not quite ready for prime time. It was always eternally searching for printers, which is an obvious defect.
Eventually somebody proposed to disable Google Cloud Print and then re-enable it. Indeed, now it shows the printer in the settings.
However, since using that primitive workaround the "Print" command in Google Chrome is grayed out, and I cannot print at all through Google Cloud Print.
I can actually print from Chrome by sharing through the PrinterShare app, which proves that both my mobile phone and the printer and, in certain mysterious round-and-about ways even Google Cloud Print are actually functioning. This proves that the defect is Google's fault.
Now I am wondering when they will repair their Cloud Print or their Android Chrome. Before it works reliably, I have to stand back and avoid it wherever possible.
Does anybody have any idea of another workaround besides going through sharing?
