I've been hacking on a browser extension that will allow you to talk to hardware directly from JavaScript in a web-page.

Caveat: This thing is really early in development, but I've got a proof of concept working and now I'm working on the 'real' version. I expect something usable will be ready in a week or two or six.

But I like early feedback, and you guys are the ideal people to review this. And of course, if you want to help out!

So.... here it is.... 


Please don't share the link publicly yet - still want to keep it slightly under the radar until it actually works. Oh wait, this is a public Google Group and it's on a public GitHub repo - hopefully nobody's paying attention.

Great job on this Joe!

Last year I wanted to make a browser extension that talked with the kinect, and ended up trying firebreath too. I had a heck of a time getting everything to build and eventually lost interest. I'm really excited to see browsers gain access to hardware!
