chrome://gcm-internals connection state "WAITING FOR BACKOFF"

Hi,

One of our user's chrome://gcm-internals connection state is always showing "WAITING FOR BACKOFF", and he is not able to receive any GCM push notifications. User claims to be on latest version of Chrome. Any ideas?

Hi, Keven,

Waiting for backoff indicates that there was a problem with connecting to the GCM server, and every time that happens there will be a longer period of waiting before the next attempt. If this problem persists between restarts of Chrome, there is a chance that a firewall is configured to block port 5228 and 443, or the host: mtalk.google.com
