Will next version of Chrome support payload in push message?

If you are asking about chrome.gcm API, it is already available.

If your question relates more to the Web Push Messaging API, IETF is working on a spec, while we are looking at implementing it.

Any progress here? I just started playing with an example of using GCM to push to a plain mobile web site and it seems I can't specify any sort of notification payload?
