Students who are 13-17 years old, enrolled in a pre-university program, and have their parent’s consent to participate can now go to the Google Code-in 2018 program site and register. Once student's have registered and their parent/legal guardian has submitted the parental consent form they may start working on their first task. 27 open source organizations have been busy creating over 2,400 tasks for students to choose from in the following categories coding, documentation, design, quality assurance, research, outreach and training.

For those of you new to the contest you may want to check out the beginner tasks that each organization has created. These are a great way to start in the contest. You can complete up to 2 of these beginner tasks.

Google Code-in will continue until December 12, 2018. On the contest site you can find Contest Rules, a Getting Started Guide, Frequently Asked Questions, and important dates for the contest.

Good luck and have fun everyone!
