After reading the introduction online, post a response and discussion
to the introduction, the notes from class, and the movie clip you
watched.

The movie i thought was weird because it is really over dramatized.
Also i think that the Sphinx thing is very interesting how they give
you the riddle and if you answer it correctly they destroy them self
but if you don't they destroy you.

So, I didn't get much out of the movie clip, just that it was corny.
For the notes I couldn't find Socrates, Prophecy or Conscientious
objection, Greek Tragedy. Everything else I pretty much found and
understand.

The key points that I didn't find were Socrates, Conscientious
Objection, Civil Disobedience, and Prophecy. There are still a few
that I am not completely sure of. Is the chorus a group of people that
get to make important descisions?

I thought the movie clip that was shown was creepy and I didn't see
the entertainment in it.

The movie was a little strange. I really didn't no about the eyes and
such. The sphinx was really interesting. She would say a rittle and if
the travler got in right, she would kill herself. If the travler got
it wrong, she would kill them

The movie was weird and confusing because we didn't know what was
going on, or why the guy didn't have eyes... After reading all the
introductary material stuff, the background of the story is a little
easier to understand. I didn't find anything on socrates, athens,
hubris, civil disobedience, or prophecy.

The clip was disturbing. Oedipus apparently stabbed himself in the
eyes. Maybe it was because he didn't want to see someone?

I found the movie clip slighty disturbing.. and it made my stomach
hurt. But what I got out of it was that the main character did
something to his father and then to his fathers wife which would be
his mom.. and now he feels and shouldn't have the priviledge of sight.
So I'm interested to find out what wrong he has committed.

when watching the movie clip i was a little freaked out.. it was
really dramatic and the blood was unpleasent. i am very curious about
why his eyes are bleeding, this will definatly be an interesting book.

I think I understand most of the vocab stuff, but the movie clip was
kind of weird, but it showed what the chorus was.

I did alot of the vocab work from out of my brain because I've come
across stuff ike this before what little I didn't the reading helped
me understand.

Awesome, another boring greek book that i cant understand. This looks
worse than the Odyssey just by movie clip we watched. I dont get why
that guy had his eyes taken out and then talked a bunch of nonsense
for 10 minutes. I would of gone to the hospital!

Sphinx girl sounds really weird.

The movie was weird, the acting was not that good it was over
dramatized in my opinion. The sphinx is pretty cool it asks a riddle
if you guess right it kills itself if you guess wrong then you die.

and she took his eyes. And that the writers dad sent him to Athens the
town. I don't know what is going on.

The movie was a little weird! I'm not for sure what the purpose of it
was. Didn't really understand what was all happening. I got most of
the vocabulary, I'm just not sure what the purpose of the chorus is.

I understood what was going on in the movie mostly because I looked up
the plot on Wikipedia beforehand, and believe me, if you had done what
Oedipus had done, you would stab your eyes out also, or maybe do
something worse. Really, it's that bad!

I also understood most of the vocab, but what I don't really get is
the relationship between "conscientious objection", "civil
disobedience", and this story. Oh well, I suppose it'll be explained
later on.

The movie clip was kinda gross. The guy did something to his father
and then his mom. Why would he think he wouldn't need to have the
privilage of sight? and some of the words we had to look up i didn't
get.

The movie was pretty weird. With the guys eyes bleeding and stuff and
how they acted it out. I thought the Sphnix was pretty interesting and
that if you answer the question right that they kill themselves of if
you dont get it right they kill you. I think this book will be hard to
understand because of the way it is written.

I thought that the movie was kind of funny because you could see it
was really fake and over dramatized. The sphinx riddle is cool because
you could destroy the sphinx if you answer it right.

This play or story thing was a little too crazy. i' all sure about the
no eyes thing?? But i think he could of handled it more like a man and
stopped being a coward. Sphinx's riddle seems pointless to me...if
they get the riddle right she kills herself, but if they get it wrong
she kills them. I dislike all their vulgar language. I disapprove of
that kind of act.

But not really i just kind of wanted to say that.

I understand most of it except the purpose of the chorus. I don't see
why or what they do but I suppose I will find that out as I read. I
thought the video clip was really disturbing and messed up but it
helped me kinda understand what is coming up in the play and what to
look for.

I didn't get much out of the movie, because i didn't understand it. I
mean the guys eyes were bleeding out and that didn't make much sense
to me. But after reading the introduction it made it a little bit
easier.

the Sphinx is an interesting because if you get the riddle right then
it kills itself. i think i know why he did it to his eyes.

I really liked the movie and i think it's gonna help as we read
because we can kind of have a visual image of who these characters
are. I pretty much understand everything so far. The language is a big
difficult but i have a pretty good understanding.

I thought the movie was a little different. The sphinx is interesting
as far as that it gives you a riddle and if you answer it wrong it
kills you but if you were to get it right the sphinx would kill
itself.
