Book14: What got out of it is that O went back to his homeland and met
upon one of his old friends that used to look after his sheep. He is
pleased to see that his friend has been loyal and has kept looking
after his sheep. His friend talks about how he loved O and hates the
suitors. O disguises himself because he wants to secretly check up on
people to make sure they have been loyal while he's been gone.
Book19: He returns to his home and he and his son get rid of the
weapons from the suitors. He disguises himself from his wife and tells
her he knows that O is coming back, although she doesn't believe him.
The old nurse is washing O's feet and realizes it's O from the scar on
his leg. He tells the nurse not to let his wife know. His wife also
tells him she's going to pick her husband soon by having them shoot
one arrow through 12 targets.
What I don't understand is why he can't tell his wife it's him. He can
she she's been loyal, and I think she'd also keep it a secret from
everyone before he kills the suitors...or whatever he's planning to do
to them. But, I suppose he has his reasons.
